Patent and information department (PID) of JSC EZTM subordinated to the chief engineer organizes and carries out patent and information work.

PID is stuffed with experiences specialists, patent engineers.

Priority activity is patent information.

Worked out and adopted patent information system influences on technical progress of JSC EZTM.

The main document of patent information is a list of classification headings of the works patent collection. There are four lists: for design department and for technological services (mechanical assembly, metallurgical, welding production).

PID specialists home and foreign inventions based on the lists. ed inventions form the works paten collection completed with reference-information retrieval service. Today the works patent collection consists of 145 ths descriptions of inventions.

Basing on the list PID publishes subject collections of world inventions contained abstracts of inventions with drawings.

Today 790 subject collections connected with design subjects and 230 subject collections connected with technological subjects have been published.

Study of patent literature allows the works specialists to be well informed about the latest achievements of engineering.

Another province of PID is a legal protection of our inventions in Russia.

Inventions are the main point indicated level of manufactured product.

PID specialists effectively educe and prepare applications worked out by engineers of chief designer and other departments.

To obtain a patent it is necessary to educe an invention, to prepare application materials, to defend them in Federal Institute of Industrial Property and etc.

Thus, inventive activity at the works directly influences competitive ability of the manufactured product and its sale.

The works has obtained 380 Russian patents since a creation of patent system.

Another important activity of PID is patent researches connected with equipment manufactured by our works. They protect equipment supplied abroad against reclamation.

At specialists' request, PID has made more than 200 analytical surveys described modern world development trends, scientific and technological achievements and other information.

Today equipment manufactured by JSC EZTM is protected by 2240 certificates of authorship and patents, 78 licenses have been sold abroad.

At the beginning of 2005, equipment was manufactured using 13 inventions. Its net profit amounted to 7 600 000 rubles.

Besides, economic effect of 140 innovation proposals used within this period amounted to 5 533 000 rubles.
