Now JSC EZTM is making the equipment for a unique piercing mill at the Seversky Tube Works. The contract was signed after a public tender which involved the world’s leading companies such as SMS MEER and Danieli. The mill used a mushroom shaped piercing scheme with an axial output of 350_450 mm diameter billet from 360_400 millimetre diameter section. The piercing mill meets the highest international standards. Along with a state-of-the-art technological solution, EZTM offered competitive prices and delivery terms. The installation of the piercing mill is the initial stage of modernisation of the hot part of a pipe rolling plant with a Pilger mill. Equipment supply began in February 2006 and the total weight of the equipment will amount to some 1,300 tonnes. The mill tests are run on 20 of August, 2006.
