In late January a tube rolling plant ТПА-400 manufactured by EZTM JSC was commissioned at Seversky Tube Works.

More than 1000 ton of unique equipment including a billet charging manipulator, a fore plate with a pusher, a working stand, a main conductor, an entering side, tables and etc. were mounted in a relatively short time. The plant is intended for production of a shell from a billet with diameters of 300-400 mm. Then the shell is rolled into a tube in a pilger mill. Thus the new plant replaces old equipment of a piercing and an elongating mill. The piercing mill of such standard size has been manufactured by EZTM JSC for the first time. The first piercing operation was successful. Shell geometric parameters accuracy outperforms dimensional characteristics obtained in the existent elongating mill. Now rolling automatic mode is being adjusted. In the next few days the mill will be commissioned.
